[OK × HARUOMI HOSONO 55th Anniversary]
This is a collaboration celebrating Haruomi Hosono's 55th anniversary.
Inspired by Mr. Hosono's well-known love for smoking, the design features a graphic that resembles a vintage tobacco package, as if it has been stored away in a drawer for years, giving it a faded, nostalgic feel.
To reflect the tropical motifs from his works, such as in "Tropical Dandy," "Bon Voyage Co.," "Cochin Moon," and "Paraiso," two palm trees have been incorporated into the design. Additionally, the depiction of Mr. Hosono during the era of his debut album "Hosono House" includes a Hawaiian shirt that matches the palm trees, which is featured in a portrait of him taken by Mike Nogami in 1973.
The graphic is incorporated into cocoa cigarettes' packaging, a type of candy that features refreshing mint and cocoa flavors, designed for children who admire the image of adults smoking. This playful yet nostalgic treat captures the essence of childhood curiosity while offering a fun and flavorful experience.
